The European Grappling Championship took place in Warsaw. Kateryna Shakalova, the cadet of the Faculty No. 3 of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, participated in the Championship as part of the Ukrainian national team. She won gold in the grappling no-gi section and gold in the grappling gi section. In total, the Ukrainian national team won 14 awards - nine bronze, two silver, and three gold medals. The Kharkiv sportswomen won four medals.

The Ukrainian team showed a decent result among 23 participating countries and 240 participants in the championship. The Ukrainian national team took the second command place in the grappling no-gi and the third in the grappling gi section. We congratulate Kateryna as well as all our athletes and their coaches with well-deserved awards!
