Cadets took a “behind-the-scenes look” at the work of experts, were taught how to examine firearms and in which cases it is advisable to conduct a DNA expertise.

Such introductory lesson took place within the framework of cooperation agreement that was recently signed between LvSUIA and Lviv Scientific and Research Forensic Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

Future investigators learned a lot of interesting things about the practical work of forensic experts, talked to representatives of Lviv SRFC. Boys and girls had an opportunity to see the process of firearms examination on the latest equipment.

In addition, they got acquainted with possibilities and procedure for the use of scientific and technical means and forensic equipment during forensic examinations. They also visited DNA research laboratory to find out more about secrets that such examination helps to reveal. Staff of the center paid attention to the peculiarities of packaging objects of biological origin, as well as explained in which cases it’s advisable to order a DNA expertise.
