НАВС

At the invitation of the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights (LBI-GMR), Associate Professor of the Department of Civil, Labor and Economic Law Svitlana Yasechko took part in the international roundtable “AI in a Fragmented Landscape”, which took place in Munich (Germany). The event was dedicated to current challenges in the field of regulation of artificial intelligence, protection of human rights and international cooperation in digital governance.

The event was organized by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights and the University of Vienna in cooperation with leading universities in Munich. The roundtable was attended by experts in international law, ethics of artificial intelligence, technology policy, business and public administration.

Participants discussed current approaches to AI governance, human rights risks, the prospects for adopting the UN Convention on Artificial Intelligence, Data and Human Rights (Munich Convention), and the possibilities of implementing the “by design” principle, which involves taking into account human rights guarantees at the technology development stage.

The discussion emphasized that effective regulation of AI should combine legal norms, ethical standards, technical safeguards and international coordination. Participants also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary cooperation to form a human-centric approach to the development and use of AI technologies.
