Scientists from the Department of Police Administrative Activities of OSUIA took part in discussing problematic issues in the field of protecting human rights and freedoms in police activities during a round table held at the university's training ground, «Custody Records».

The event was organized by the head of the Department for the Organization of Temporary Detention Facilities and Monitoring of Actions with Detainees of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, Police Major Oleksii Usatyi and representative of the Department of Chief Inspection and Human Rights Compliance of the National Police of Ukraine in the Odesa region Kostiantyn Dromov, on the occasion of the anniversary of the successful operation of the «Custody Records» system in the territorial divisions of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, namely: Odesa Regional Police Department № 2 (Bilyayivka) and Police Station № 2 (Usatove) Odesa Regional Police Department № 2.

The round table participants included representatives of the Southern Interregional Center for Free Legal Aid, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Odesa region, the Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of the State Language in the Odesa region, the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office, and the National Police of Ukraine.

The participants discussed issues of cooperation between the police and the aforementioned representatives, the adoption of new practices and proposals for improving human rights compliance.
