25.09.2020 Lviv State University of Internal Affairs hosted a scientific-practical seminar “Problems of combating drug trafficking: social and legal aspects” on 25th of September 2020.
This year event was held remotely - participants joined the discussion using online platform Zoom. However, despite this format of communication, researchers and practitioners have discussed many topical issues and jointly sought to find effective solutions to help prevent drug trafficking.
University Vice-rector Olha BALYNSKA addressed a welcoming speech to all those who joined the event.
Seminar focused on criminal law and criminological means of combating illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, their analogues and precursors. Participants of the discussion expressed their views on drug prevention by administrative and legal means, discussed the interaction of subjects of drug prevention system and international legal aspects of combating drug trafficking. They also considered the topic of information support of law enforcement and human rights agencies in this area.
Event was attended by representatives of Department for Combating Drug Crime and Department of Patrol Police of Lviv region, Rozhnyativ Police Department of Ivano-Frankivsk region, private rehabilitation medical center and public organization “Law. Order. Abundance”. Among the higher education institutions that joined the discussion were National Academy of Internal Affairs, Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University and Lviv University of Trade and Economics.
