Ihor Ostrovskyi, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Special Physical Training of KhNUIA, took part in the training camp in team sports to prepare the National Team of Ukraine for participation in the international sports competitions “Invictus Games” in 2025. The event was organized by the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and aimed at studying the experience of organizing training camps, as well as familiarizing with the specifics of working with wounded military personnel and war veterans, for those conducting adaptive sports training for veterans.

Particular attention was paid to team sports and the adaptation of training methods to the specifics of working with wounded soldiers and war veterans. The main areas of training were team sports: wheelchair basketball, sitting volleyball and rowing. The military and war veterans conducted morning and evening training sessions, attended lectures on psychological support and rehabilitation through sports, and had individual consultations with coaches and doctors.

Natalia Kalmykova, Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tarasenko, Director of the Department of Education, Science and Sports of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Volodymyr Cherniei, Rector of the National Police, and Serhii Prytula, public and political figure, founder of a charity foundation, volunteer, and TV presenter, met with the veterans.

Introductory seminars were held for trainers and rehabilitation specialists to learn the specifics of working with wounded soldiers.
The coaches and medical specialists gained valuable experience working with wounded soldiers and veterans. The Ukrainian team showed a high level of training and unity, which is a good indicator for further international competitions.
