Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs trains specialists by state order and at the expense of individuals and legal entities for obtaining “Bachelor`s”, “Master`s”, “Doctor of Philosophy” higher academic degrees.

Faculty No. 1 (investigation) provides full-time training of investigators for the pre-trial investigation agencies of the National Police of Ukraine for obtaining a Bachelor's academic degree in the specialty 081 “Law”.

The Faculty also trains investigators, specialists for the pre-trial investigation agencies of the National Police of Ukraine on a full-time basis for obtaining a Master's academic degree in the specialty 081 “Law”.

Graduates work in pre-trial investigation agencies as investigators.

Faculty No. 2 (criminal police) provides full-time training for a Bachelor`s degree in specialties:

·         081 “Law”, which prepares investigators for the pre-trial investigation agencies of the National Police of Ukraine;

·         262 “Law enforcement activity” prepares criminal investigators for the criminal police units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Graduates work in the units of criminal investigation, combating drug trafficking and in other operational services of the National Police of Ukraine. 

Faculty No. 3 (preventive police units) provides full-time training for a Bachelor`s degree in specialties:

·        262 “Law enforcement activity”, which trains district police officers for preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine;

·        053 “Psychology”, which trains psychologists and specialists for juvenile prevention units of the National Police of Ukraine.

The Faculty also trains Master`s on a full-time basis in the specialty 262 “Law enforcement activity” for preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Graduates of the Faculty work as psychologists, as inspectors of juvenile prevention, regulatory approval system, personnel departments, patrol police.

Faculty No. 4 (cyberpolice) provides full-time training for a Bachelor`s degree in specialties:

·         081 “Law”, which prepares investigators for the cyberpolice units of the National Police of Ukraine;

·         262 “Law enforcement activity”, which trains specialists of the units for combating human trafficking offences of the National Police of Ukraine;

·         125 “Cybersecurity”, which trains specialists for the cyberpolice units of the National Police of Ukraine.

It is the only Faculty in the system of departmental institutions of higher education in Ukraine that trains specialists for the cyberpolice units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Its graduates work as investigators, operatives of the cyberpolice units, specialists of the units for combating cybercrimes and human trafficking offences and also they can work in operational technical, information and analytical units.

Faculty No. 5 (for employees of the National Police of Ukraine) provides part-time training for the National Police of Ukraine for obtaining Bachelor`s and Master's academic degrees in the specialty 262 “Law enforcement activity”.

Students, including foreign citizens, study at Faculty No. 6 (at the expense of individuals and legal entities). The Faculty trains Bachelor’s and Master’s academic degree specialists in specialties 081“Law”, 262 “Law Enforcement Activity”, 053 “Psychology”, 072 “Finances, Banking and Insurance”, 125 “Cybersecurity”.

The University also includes:

Sumy branch of KhNUIA, on the basis of which Bachelors and Masters are trained in full-time and part-time forms of education of district police officers for the preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine in the specialty 262 “Law enforcement activity”. Also, students study at Sumy branch at the expense of individuals and legal entities for obtaining Bachelor's and Master's academic degree in the specialties 081“Law” and 262 “Law Enforcement Activity”.

Sumy Centre of Basic Professional Training “Police Academy” on the basis of Sumy branch of KhNUIA carries out initial professional training of the police officers, who are accepted to the police for the first time.  

Kremenchuk Flight College of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, on the basis of which bachelors and professional junior bachelors are trained on full-time and part-time forms of study in flight, technical and economic specialties. The college also has a department for training foreign students and retraining aviation specialists. The College is one of the leading aviation state institutions of higher education in Ukraine, and it has no equal in the field of helicopter training. College graduates receive a diploma of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs of the state standard and a CPL pilot certificate of international standard in accordance with JAR (pilot qualification) and are assigned to serve in the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.

The most important component of each educational institution is its scientific and pedagogical potential. The university has a department of educational and scientific training, which provides training for the degree of “Doctor of Philosophy”. Doctors of Philosophy are trained in postgraduate studies (by state order) and postgraduate studies (at the expense of individuals and legal entities) in the following specialties: 081 “Law”, 053 “Psychology”, 011 “Educational, pedagogical sciences”.

The university has a preparatory department.

The department of military training works for full-time and part-time students, after which they receive the military rank of “junior lieutenant of the reserve”. The department provides training in military accounting specialties: “Military Psychology”, “Moral and psychological support of military operations”.

The university has a modern material and technical base. To practice practical skills, there are training grounds: tactical, forensic, police department, cybercrime and cyberspace monitoring center, five shooting complexes, laser multimedia shooting galleries, centers of correctional and psychodiagnostic development, gender education, gender education hall, university museum. There are unique classrooms: a courtroom, a green room for psychological assistance to victims of violence, a legal clinic where cadets and students of the university provide free legal aid to the population and more.

The university actively cooperates with the police of Sweden, the Czech Republic, Norway, the USA, Turkey, Croatia, Poland and other countries.

A new modern nine-store dormitory has been built, a medical and sanitary unit is operating, and the network of university canteens and cafes has been expanded and renovated.

There are numerous sports sections, wrestling, gyms and sports halls, a summer multifunctional sports complex with playgrounds for gymnastic exercises, football, volleyball, basketball and an obstacle course for cadets and students. The multifunctional complex “Dynamo-Arena”, built according to modern European standards, allows for trainings, classes on special physical and tactical training, sports events, football matches, etc.

The university has amateur art and applied arts groups. Cadets and students can unleash their creative potential during numerous cultural events.

The real decoration of the university is numerous squares, recreation areas, alleys.

The staff of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs has a high title “Flagship of Education and Science of Ukraine”, three times it became the winner of the All-Ukrainian educational rating “Sophia of Kyiv”, it was awarded the Diploma of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, ad it has other awards.
