On January 20, Professor Iryna Hloviuk of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs held a binary practical class with cadets from the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for the Criminal Police Units of the National Police of Ukraine on the academic discipline «Covert Investigative (Search) Actions».

The meeting with the cadets was held by lawyer, managing partner of UnityLex LLC, Doctor of Philosophy Yurii Zhovtan. He is a graduate of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs and defended his thesis on «Access to pre-trial investigation materials: theory and practice».

During the class, cadets learned about the specifics of conducting and recording covert investigative (search) activities, the work of a lawyer with the results of covert investigative (search) activities, the justification of the defense's argument about provocation of a crime, and other practical issues related to the use of this means of collecting and verifying evidence in a pre-trial investigation.
