Students of the Institute of Law and Security of OSUIA took part in a binary class on the topic «The Realities of Today's War», which was particularly meaningful and moving.

The guest of the event was Oleksandr Lienik, a senior lieutenant in the Marine Corps and father of first-year student Alina Lienik. He shared his combat experience, talked about his service, and described the trials he had to endure, including three and a half years in captivity. His story was an example of the courage, resilience, and fortitude of Ukrainian soldiers.

Oleksii Ishchuk, assistant to the Rector for work with veterans, also joined the class and emphasized the importance of supporting military personnel and the significance of such meetings for shaping a conscious civic position among young people. The veteran admitted that the hardest part was not the physical pain, but the question «What next?» His story is about strength of spirit, about life after darkness, and about how even after loss, it is possible to build a future.

Such meetings foster respect for Ukraine's defenders, strengthen patriotic spirit, and are important for the development of future law enforcement professionals.
