Оn March 10, a binary class on the topic “Classification and Tactical and Technical Characteristics of Explosive Objects” was held for cadets of the Faculty for Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigation Bodies of the National Police of Ukraine at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs. The class was organized by the Department of Tactical, Special and Special Physical Training in cooperation with representatives of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa Region.

The invited specialists provided cadets with detailed and informative explanations about:

• the specific features of the activities of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit of the National Police of Ukraine and the response to bomb threat reports;

• personal safety measures when handling explosive substances;

• the specifics of the work of pre-trial investigation bodies when responding to explosion scenes;

• the classification and operating principles of explosive objects, explosive substances, and explosion initiation devices; 

and other related issues.

Cadets also had the opportunity to visually familiarize themselves with modern modifications of explosive devices, engineering ammunition, artillery shells, mortar rounds, cluster elements, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
