Аn information session with elements of training exercises titled “Give Safety, Respect and Support for March 8!” was held at OSUIA.

The event was organized by the NGO “Desiate Kvitnia” in cooperation with the Department of Administrative Activities of the Police and the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of OSUIA.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Tetiana Vikovan, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council, and Maryna Kurochkina, President of the NGO “Desiate Kvitnia”.

Within the framework of the block “Success Stories of Women Leaders of Odesa Region”, the following speakers shared their experience:
• Maryna Kurochkina – President of the NGO “Desiate Kvitnia”;

• Iryna Hloviuk – Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics of OSUIA;
• Iryna Monastyriuk – Head of the NGO “Youth Council of Odesa Region”;

• Mariia Chilei – Head of the Ukrainian National Center of Odesa Region, member of the UNICEF Youth Council and the Youth Council of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine;
• Khrystyna Pavliuk – fourth-year student of OSUIA.

The event was moderated by Viktoriia Tkachenko, a specialist of the NGO “Desiate Kvitnia”.
The session program combined welcoming speeches, the interactive activity “March 8 Is About…” using an online poll, a mini-lecture “The True History of March 8”, the exercise “How to Congratulate Without Stereotypes?”, and a flash mob “What One Action Can I Take to Support Equality?”.

The event was held within the framework of the project “Protection of Internally Displaced Persons, Conflict-Affected Persons and Empowerment of Communities”, implemented with the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
