Professional soldier Oleh Avtomieienko participated in the battles near Volnovakha from the very first days of the full-scale invasion. While organizing the city's defense, he was seriously wounded and lost his sight.

The first few months after his injury were the hardest – hospitals, recovery, searching for meaning in life. But eventually, Oleh found the strength to change himself: he started blogging, writing about the lives of blind people, completed his education, and enrolled in university. Today, he works at Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, plays sports, and dreams of traveling independently.
