An educational event was organized for cadets of OSUIA, focusing on the application of criminal analysis in documenting war crimes. The event was organized by the Research Laboratory on Current Issues in Criminal Analysis.

The session was attended by Police Colonel Roman Piatelin, Deputy Head of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kharkiv Oblast, as well as Police Major Maryna Novikova, Senior Inspector of the War Crimes Analysis Division.

During the event, the cadets learned about practical approaches to working with large volumes of information, including the specifics of collecting, analyzing, and organizing data to document crimes committed during the period of armed aggression against Ukraine.

Participants were also introduced to the modern technical and digital tools used by criminal police units. In particular, the discussion focused on the ability to identify individuals involved, analyze their actions and movements, and build a solid evidentiary basis for bringing the guilty parties to justice.
