Under the chairmanship of Olha Podlisetska, Associate Professor of the Department of Language Training at OSUIA, an open meeting of the «Ex Libris» reading club was held, dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian writer Lesia Ukrainka.

The moderator of the meeting presented a lecture on the life and work of Lesia Ukrainka entitled «Those who have not lived through a storm do not know its power».

University students acted as co-presenters of the lecture and recited poetry by Lesia Ukrainka.

Club members discussed Lesia Ukrainka's dramatic poem «Boyarynya», which is a cautionary drama highlighting the destructive influence of muscovy on Ukrainian culture and national identity.

The writer's entire life is an example of how a person should never give up under any circumstances and never fall into despair.
