On October 29, a joint meeting of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists, the Center for Gender Education, the Scientific and Analytical Security Training Center and the Mediation Center of OSUIA was held on the basis of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 «Women, peace, security».

Maksym Korniienko, the first vice-rector of OSUIA, addressed the participants with a welcome speech.
In the first part of the meeting, the heads of the centers highlighted the main areas of activity:
Olena Kovalova – head of the Scientific and Analytical Training Center «Safety Space»;
Liliia Matvieieva– head of the Mediation Center of OSUIA;
Liubov Berezovenko – is the head of the Gender Education Center of OSUIA.

During the event, Ihor Yakovliev, junior lieutenant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, head of the Corps for the Development of Ukrainian Culture of the Scientific Society of NU «Odesa Polytechnic», presented the results of a study conducted by the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Kostya Gordienko, chieftain of Kosh, together with the Center for Gender Education and the Scientific and Analytical Training Center «Safety Space» OSUIA, Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduates, doctoral students and young scientists of the National University «Odesa Polytechnic» with the support of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council.

As part of the study, an anonymous survey was conducted among the servicemen of the brigade in order to identify the level of awareness of gender equality issues, analyze the state of ensuring equal rights and opportunities in the military environment, and develop recommendations for improving the moral and psychological climate in the units.

Olena Kniazieva, Candidate of Sociological Sciences, representative of the Coalition 1325 «Odesa region», Associate Professor of the Department of Public Service and Law of the Odesa Polytechnic National University, delivered a report on the significance of Resolution 1325, the mechanisms of its implementation at the regional level, and the activities of the Coalition 1325 «Odesa region».

A separate block of the meeting was devoted to organizational issues of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students and Young Scientists of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Olha Kosarevska, research associate of the department of organization of scientific work of OSUIA, Mark Pyrlyk, deputy head of scientific society, and Krystyna Dzhupina, secretary of scientific society spoke on organizational issues of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students.
