A meeting with the representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Odesa region, Maria Popova, on the topic “Human rights in the law enforcement system” was held at the OSUIA.
The event was also attended by the regional coordinator of public relations of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Serhii Fisiukov.
At the meeting, lecturers and cadets of the OSUIA discussed issues related to the protection of human rights in the law enforcement system and the synergy between the authorities and the public in this regard, in particular:
- formation and development of rights, freedoms and duties of a person and citizen;
- legal status of a person;
- mechanisms, guarantees and conditions for the realization of human rights and freedoms;
- international legal standards for ensuring human rights in law enforcement;
- ensuring human rights in Ukraine during martial law: problems and protection, and other relevant topics.
The discussion was fruitful and extremely important. Higher education applicants acquired and expanded their knowledge on this topic, strengthened their determination to promote the protection of human rights and freedoms.
