Online lecture "Key values of the European Union police officer" for first-year cadets of OSUIA
НАВС

On October 29, the Department of International Cooperation organized an online lecture "Key Values of the European Union police officer" with the participation of Lucia Maerman-Nolte, a police officer, trainer / community police advisor, and representative of the European Union Advisory Mission. The participants of this event were first-year cadets of the faculties of training specialists for criminal police units, preventive activities and pre-trial investigation bodies.

Close attention was paid to the essence and formation of the key values of law enforcement officers - integrity, reliability, courage and interaction. The European expert stressed that the professionalism of police officers largely depends on interaction with each other and resolving dilemmas that are felt internally and externally. After all, the performance of professional duties often happens in extreme situations, when it is necessary to make quick decisions without pre-known consequences, which requires a huge amount of physical and mental effort from the police.

The topic of fallowing and protection of human rights by a police officer was thoroughly discussed during the online lecture, and the speaker gave vivid examples from her experience of service in law enforcement agencies. Ms. Lucia also stressed the importance of leadership development and self-development in the police profession. "A head must be a leader and an example, a source of inspiration for others, must value critical attitude, responsibility and always be responsible," said officer Maerman-Nolte.

At the end of the lecture, the cadets had the opportunity to ask questions to the foreign specialist. Special attention was paid to the increasing level of trust in police officer and factors of effective interaction between the civilians and the police.
