To comply with the requirements of the Order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine "On the involvement of personnel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to ensuring public safety and order during the next local elections in 2020", from October 20 to 26, about 2,000 personnel of the National Academy of Internal Affairs were involved in law enforcement activities at polling stations.

The personnel were instructed on the peculiarities of service during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Academy provided personell with personal protective equipment and methodological recommendations for organizing the work of bodies and units of the National Police to ensure security and order during the regular local elections. The recommendations were developed by the author's collective of NAIA.

Working groups worked in the Educational and Scientific Institutes № 1, 2 and 3 and at the Precarpathian Faculty (Ivano-Frankivsk) of the National Academy of Internal Affairs. The operational headquarters was located in the central building of the Academy. The headquarters received information about the course of personnel service, which was transmitted daily to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
