On September 18, a closed court hearing on criminal proceedings under Art. 152 part 4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Rape) was held for the first time in the "Child-Friendly Crisis Room" of the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs.
The interrogation of a minor girl was carried out in a specialized room. Violent actions were commited in relation to the girl by her mother's partner two years ago.
The "Child-Friendly Crisis Room" which was recently established at the Odessa State University of Internal Affairs has been used repeatedly in investigative actions in the framework of circuit criminal proceedings.
Interrogation in such a room allows to prevent re-traumatization of the child's psyche during the interrogation due to special techniques and psychologically comfortable atmosphere, as well as technical equipment that allows to record the interrogation properly and then use this video to conduct investigations without re-interrogation.
