А large-scale All-Ukrainian wheelchair rugby tournament took place in the Lviv region as part of the «GART» project, bringing together nearly 80 male and female veterans from across Ukraine this year.

In the run-up to the tournament a five-day training camp was organized for veterans who had decided to try their hand at this sport for the first time. Forty-two male and female veterans participated. Among them was Oleksii Ishchuk, assistant to the Rector of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs for veteran affairs.

Over the course of two days, 12 teams competed for the championship. The teams «GART of Virа» and «GART of Vohon» advanced to the final, and «GART of Virа» emerged victorious with a score of 31–26.

The assistant to the Rector of OSUIA played on the «GART Mriia» team, which, by the end of the tournament, demonstrated a high level of skill and teamwork, finishing in third place among 12 teams.

The sporting event was organized by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in collaboration with the Initiative Center «Come Back Alive», with support from the MATRA Program of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine and the Invictus Games Foundation. The competition took place under the patronage of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
