А CEPOL training course on “Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)” was held in Kyiv, organized as part of the European Union project “Training and Operational Partnership in the Fight Against Organized Crime” (TOPCOP II).

Odessa State University of Internal Affairs was represented at the event by Police Major Yevheniia Pylypenko, a senior research fellow at the Research Laboratory for Contemporary Issues in Criminal Analysis, who actively participated in the course and honed her professional skills in the use of open-source intelligence tools.

The course curriculum covered current issues related to the application of OSINT methods and tools in law enforcement, including: gathering information from open sources and social media; conducting secure and anonymous online investigations, asset analysis, geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), the use of Interpol and Europol tools, and the application of artificial intelligence in OSINT investigations.

Participants completed practical exercises, analyzed real-life case studies, and practiced modern methods of information gathering and analysis used in criminal investigations and operational activities.
