Representatives of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs participated in a workshop held within the framework of the project “Practical Experience Laboratory: War Crimes and SOGI” organized by the NGO “PROZHEKTOR” with the support of LAW and Swiss Solidarity.

The event aimed to strengthen the capacity of the legal community in implementing human rights-based and victim-centred approaches to the investigation of war crimes committed on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity.

The following representatives of OSUIA took part in the workshop:

• Iryna Hloviuk – Professor of the Department of Criminal Procedure and Criminalistics;

• Oleh Matveievskyi – Senior Lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines;

• Serhii Sainchyn – Senior Lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law Disciplines;

• Olha Kosarevska – Research Fellow of the Research Department;

• Viktor Yarosh – Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology.

During the workshop, participants discussed the specificities of working with victims, as well as modern approaches to ensuring access to justice and the protection of human rights under martial law.
