A meeting with First Lady Olena Zelenska was heldat the Odesa Regional Centre of Ukrainian Culture. Theevent was joined by Olga Korzhenko, an adjunct of thepostgraduate and doctoral studies at Odesa StateUniversity of Internal Affairs, and Andriy Bondarenko, a cadet of the Educational and Scientific Institute for Training Specialists for Criminal Police Units of NPU.

‘We heal the soul. Our means are song, word, art, tradition,’ says the Odesa Regional Centre of UkrainianCulture.

And it is true, because the centre regularly hostsevents in which cadets and students of the Odesa StateUniversity of Internal Affairs have repeatedlyparticipated: art therapy for children and adults, concerts, warm family meetings for wounded soldiers undergoingrehabilitation in medical institutions in Odesa.

Olga Korzhenko told the audience about herunforgettable meetings with our defenders and how ourUkrainian song, words and art really heal.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, cadetsand students of the Odesa State University of InternalAffairs have been invited to the Centre for ‘relief hours’ and participated in the innovative project ‘My Story’, which allows students forced to move from theirhometowns to tell about themselves and recoverpsychologically by studying folk traditions.

During the meeting, representatives of the universitytook part in a masterclass on creating the ‘Angel’ carving. The Odesa Regional Centre of UkrainianCulture was decorated with an incredible seven-metre-high vytynanka of the same name by Marianna Panasiuk, who conducted the masterclass for the participants.
