Volodymyr Zakharenko, Deputy Head of the Department - Head of the Human Rights Compliance Office of the Department of the Main Inspection and Human Rights Compliance of the NPU, together with Viacheslav Davydenko, Rector of the OSUIA, opened and presented the work of the «Custody Records» system for automated recording of actions with detainees at the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs.

The introduction to «Custody Records» took place on the example of the detention and delivery of an imaginary offender to the police station.

At each stage, Volodymyr Zakharenko explained in detail the algorithm of police actions and emphasized that the modern «Custody Records» system, which is now being actively implemented throughout Ukraine, is extremely important in police activities, as it records every step of both the police officer and the detainee, which further prevents detainees from accusing police officers of false accusations and prevents police officers from committing any illegal actions against detainees.

The participants inspected the premises for interviews with the detainee, his communication with his defense lawyer, investigative actions, as well as the room where detainees stay for 24 hours.

This modern training ground will be used in the educational process of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs for the purpose of qualitative training of qualified specialists of the National Police of Ukraine.
