By decree of the President of Ukraine №1019/2026, the medal «For work and achievement» was awarded to Vira Halunko - professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Administrative Activities of the Police of the Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, doctor of legal sciences, professor.

The state award was awarded for a significant personal contribution to the development of national education, training of qualified specialists, courage and dedication shown in the defense of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, many years of fruitful pedagogical activity and high professionalism.

Vira Halunko is the author of more than 290 scientific and educational and methodological works, including monographs, textbooks, scientific articles and practical recommendations. Her publications are presented in publications indexed in the international scientometric databases Scopus and Web of Science.

The scientist heads the editorial board of the journal «Legal Bulletin», included in the List of specialized scientific publications of Ukraine of the category «B» in the field of legal sciences.

In her work, Vira Halunko combines scientific and pedagogical activities, involves students of higher education in research and promotes the training of future police officers and lawyers.
