Among the future community police officers are representatives from different regions of Ukraine. The celebrations on the occasion of the start of the educational process were attended by the Rector of the University, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko, Head of the Community Relations Office of the Preventive Activity Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Major Maya Breslavska, Vice-Rectors, management of the Institute of Postgraduate Education and Distance Learning, lecturers, and project trainers.
With a minute of silence, the participants of the event honored the cherished memory, courage, fortitude, resilience and heroic deeds of soldiers, law enforcement officers, all those who died in the line of duty and service, as well as civilians who died as a result of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.
Addressing the community police officers with instructions, Maya Breslavska, Head of the Community Relations Office of the Preventive Activity Department of the National Police of Ukraine, Police Major, emphasized that the training courses for community police officers is another step towards improving their professional skills. For this purpose, a team of the best specialists has been assembled - teachers, trainers, representatives of practical units. The representative of the National Police wished the students to be actively involved in the training process from the first day in order to effectively apply the acquired knowledge in the performance of their duties, creating a safe space for citizens. Maya Breslavska urged each officer to persevere in acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary for a community police officer, to maintain team spirit and help each other.
Rector of the University Valerii Sokurenko noted that this is the twentieth time that the university has launched a course to train community police officers. “The knowledge you will gain during your studies is extremely important for the state, society, and communities,” the general emphasized, addressing the students. ”The success of the Community Police Officer project, which is aimed at reforming the National Police of Ukraine, depends on your responsibility, discipline, and ability to work in a team.”

After the ceremony, the students of the community police officer specialization courses began classes as scheduled.
