On August 27-28, a two-day seminar– training was held on the basis of OSUIA, organized on the initiative of the Department for the Prevention of Corruption of the National Police of Ukraine. The topic of the event was devoted to the practical aspects of the implementation of the «Algorithm of actions of employees of the National Police of Ukraine while working in the Unified portal of whistleblower messages».

The event was opened by the rector of the university, police colonel Viacheslav Davydenko, who emphasized the importance of forming high standards of integrity and transparency in the activities of police officers.

The participants were addressed with welcoming words:

Ivan Zhuk the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Odesa region, police general of the third rank; 

Ihor Zvezdin the head of the Corruption Prevention Department of the NPU, Police Colonel;

Anastasiia Renkas the head of the exposure department of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption;

Jan Danco advisor / trainer on interaction between the police and the EUAM community in Ukraine.

The seminar–training was attended by representatives of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, international experts of the EUAM in Ukraine, as well as authorized units and persons for the prevention and detection of corruption of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Odesa, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, representatives of the Departments of Internal Security, Strategic Investigations, patrol police, security police.

During the seminar, methodological recommendations for using the whistleblower message portal were presented to the participants.

Special attention was paid to the issue of the need to improve national legislation in order to bring it into line with European standards and create more effective mechanisms for the protection of whistleblowers.
