The event was organized by the leadership of the Center for Special Professional Training "Police Academy" of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs within the framework of the National Week of Barrier-Free.

In Dnipro, representatives of the human rights compliance sector of the Dnipro District Police Department No. 1 held a meeting with the teacher Yevheniia Zhydkova and the listeners of the Center for Special Professional Training "Police Academy" of DSUIA, during which they talked about the importance of creating a barrier-free environment in the work of the police.

The head of the sector, Police Captain Tetiana Morgalenko and the inspector, Senior Police Lieutenant Anastasiia Skyba emphasized that a modern police officer is not only a representative of the law, but also a person who knows how to support, listen and professionally help everyone who seeks help.

The listeners learned about the importance of the accessibility of police services, ethical communication, non-discrimination and respect for human rights. Special attention was paid to correct interaction with people with disabilities, citizens who have experienced stress or violence, as well as other categories of the population that need support.

The listeners were also shown the work of the Custody Records system, which ensures the transparency of police officers' actions and control over the observance of human rights in police units.


Such events contribute to the formation in future law enforcement officers of a humane, responsible and inclusive approach to the performance of official duties, increasing the quality of police services and affirming the principles of barrier-free in the daily activities of the National Police of Ukraine.
