Classes for lyceum pupils are conducted by representatives of the Recruiting Center of the 12th Special Purpose Brigade “Azov” of the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine.

During the latest meeting, the theoretical foundations of the MARCH protocol were reviewed, which determines the sequence of actions when providing first aid to the wounded in tactical and combat conditions.
The speaker was a serviceman with the call sign “Khimik”. Together with the lyceum pupils, he analyzed the meaning of the acronyms “A” (Airway, airways) and “R” (Respiration, breathing). He outlined the key actions at the initial stages of providing aid: checking airway patency, clearing the oral cavity, necessary measures to ensure normal breathing and stabilization of the casualty. The pupils learned about possible threats to breathing in the wounded, the procedure for assessing the casualty’s condition and the priority of actions in stressful situations. The class combined theoretical part with practical discussion of real scenarios.

The tactical medicine course is aimed at forming critically important skills in lyceum pupils: rapid assessment of casualties’ condition, correctness of decision-making, responsibility and teamwork.
