The event was conducted with the support of the Department for the Organization of Scientific Activity of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs.
In his welcoming address, the Head of the Department for the Organization of Scientific Activity, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Associate Professor Denys Proshyn, emphasized that members of the Society take an active part in the scientific life of the university: they are active participants in departmental research groups; many of them have a substantial list of theses and articles and take part in scientific and scientific-practical events not only at the university level, but also at the regional, national, and international levels; it is the members of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students who demonstrate the best results in research paper competitions. He noted that the Scientific Society cooperates with the Council of Young Scientists of DSUIA, which provides opportunities for joint participation in the implementation of various scientific projects.
Members of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students also participate in the preparation and conduct of events for students of the Dnipro Lyceum of Security Orientation and National-Patriotic Education named after O. Hostishchev, with the aim of familiarizing them with the basics of scientific activity. All this allows one to conclude that the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students operates quite productively and generally fulfills its functions of promoting youth science effectively.
During the meeting, elections of the new leadership of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students were held. Following a discussion of candidates, it was decided to elect Yuliia Tolmachova, a 3rd-year cadet of group DR-343, as Chair of the Scientific Society; Mariia Sydorenko, a 3rd-year student of group YuD-341, as Deputy Chair; and Ilona Buiakova, a 3rd-year cadet of group DR-344, as Secretary.
At the end of the meeting, Senior Research Fellow of the Department for the Organization of Scientific Activity, Olena Shkurko, provided members of the Scientific Society of Higher Education Students with information on research paper competitions for higher education students held at the university, and also informed them about scientific and scientific-practical events dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Dnipro State University of Internal Affairs, in particular the 10th International Scientific and Practical Conference “International and National Security: Theoretical and Applied Aspects,” and invited everyone interested to take part in its preparation and participation, as well as in other events.
