The conference was opened by the Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, corresponding member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Lawyer of Ukraine, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii SOKURENKO. He outlined the tasks of Ukrainian law schools during the war and the post-war period, and identified opportunities for cooperation in the field of combating crime.

The main goal of the conference was to unite the efforts of scientists and practitioners through a constructive discussion at the intersection of various disciplines of the criminal law block (criminal law, criminal enforcement law, criminology, criminal process, forensics), exchange of experience, in particular international, and promotion of innovations in reducing criminogenic threats associated with the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, as well as in the context of the post-conflict period.

The event, dedicated to the problems caused by the Russian war against Ukraine, highlighted the socio-political situation, the need to ensure national security and territorial integrity, preserve the lives and health of Ukrainians, and protect against criminal threats during the crisis period.
Following the results of the international scientific and practical conference, a resolution was adopted containing specific recommendations and proposals for improving criminal and criminal procedural legislation, as well as the practice of its application. This resolution will be sent to the relevant law enforcement agencies for further processing and feedback.
The conference materials are a significant contribution to the development of the priority problem of combating crime in Ukraine under martial law and in the post-war period.
