On the occasion of Ukraine's Physical Culture and Sports Day, Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held a sports and patriotic celebration with the participation of teams of cadets and students from Institutes Nos. 1-5.
The attendees observed a minute of silence to honour the bright memory, civic courage, strength of spirit, resilience, and heroic deeds of all those who gave their lives for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
On behalf of University Rector Valerii SOKURENKO, First Vice-Rector Viktor VASYLENKO addressed the young people. He emphasised the importance of sports, especially for those young men and women who have chosen a career in the police force: "Physical training is the key to endurance, strength and discipline. In your future service, you will have to overcome difficult challenges, and it is sport that will help you maintain your resilience and health. May each of you realise your potential – in your studies, in sport and in your future profession. Be smart, strong, brave and responsible, because these are the qualities that make a real police officer." Viktor VASYLENKO wished the young people confidence in their own abilities and a successful start.
