On the eve of the Day of the National Police of Ukraine, celebrations were held at the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, which brought together the university leadership, employees, veterans and cadets.

Those present performed the National Anthem of Ukraine and observed a minute of silence in memory of police officers and military personnel, all defenders of Ukraine, as well as civilians whose lives were taken by Russian armed aggression. The cadets laid flowers at the monument to the fallen Heroes.

The university staff was congratulated on their professional holiday by the Rector, Police General of the third rank Valerii Sokurenko. “I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the National Police of Ukraine! Today, police officers perform extremely complex tasks - from ensuring public safety and assisting civilians to working in front-line areas and counteracting the consequences of war. The special pride of the university is our graduates and employees who serve with honor, defending Ukraine and demonstrating high professionalism. We bow our heads to the memory of those who gave their lives for Ukraine, and thank everyone for their dedicated service,” said Valeriy Sokurenko. He expressed gratitude to the team for their professionalism, responsibility, dedication to their chosen cause and significant contribution to the training of future police officers, and wished them good health, well-being, indomitability and new professional achievements.

During the celebrations, employees and cadets of the university were awarded departmental incentive awards, certificates of honor and thanks, and were also awarded special titles for conscientious performance of official duties, high professionalism, significant achievements in professional activity and success in studies.
