The lecture “Central Rada of Ukraine as an institution of Ukrainian state-building” was held at LvSUIA
НАВС

Hanna Siromska, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Behavioral, Humanitarian Sciences and Economic Security, told the cadets about this important page of history. The event was timed to the anniversary of the creation of the Ukrainian Central Rada.

The lecturer and the cadets discussed the legislative activity of the Ukrainian Central Rada, which resulted in the adoption of four universals. In particular, on January 22, 1918, under the conditions of russian-bolshevik aggression, the IV Universal proclaimed the independence of the Ukrainian Peoples Republic.

It was during the time of the Ukrainian Peoples Republic in 1918 that the coat of arms was approved, the main element of which was the trident, as well as the anthem - Pavlo Chubynskyis song Ukraine has not yet perished to the music of Mykhailo Verbytskyi. The national flag was the blue-yellow banner. On the last day of its existence (April 29, 1918), the Ukrainian Central Rada adopted the Constitution of the Ukrainian Peoples Republic.

In the end, the lecturer concluded that despite its short-term activity, the Central Rada played an important role in Ukrainian history, becoming a connecting link in the process of state formation. Her actions contributed to the consolidation of the Ukrainian nation and restoration of statehood.
