Inaugural meeting of the Center for Gender Education OSUIA

Оn March 7, a solemn meeting of the Center for Gender Education of the State Police Department of Internal Affairs was held to mark the 10th anniversary of its foundation and the International Day for Women's Rights and International Peace.

 

Maksym Korniienko, acting first vice-rector of the university, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

The Academic Council of the OSUIA awarded the Center's partners and representatives who actively provided scientific and practical assistance to academic staff and higher education students in implementing gender equality ideas in the educational process, conducted educational and outreach activities, and organized research.

 

During the meeting, the following spoke:

 

Olena Kovalova is the founder of the Center for Gender Education and a professor at the Department of Police Administration;

Liudmyla Akimova is a senior coordinator of the United Nations Population Fund in Ukraine - UNFPA Ukraine;

 

Yuliia Didenko is a member of the Ukrainian parliament;

Nataliia Fedorovych is a Ukrainian statesman and politician, former Deputy Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine;

 

Nataliia Medvid, Head of the Department for the Implementation of Gender Policy, Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking of the Department of Labor and Social Policy of the Odesa City Council.

The event was moderated by Liubov Berezovenko, Assistant to the Rector for Gender Issues. 

 

The event was concluded with a creative performance by students of Odesa School of Arts №13.
