А round table discussion was held at OSUIA on the topic: «Institutional capacity of customs authorities in law enforcement: current issues and ways to resolve them».

The event was organized in partnership with the NGO «Youth Development Center» and as part of a sub-grant from the ACCORD: Accountability and Capacity-building for Customs Oversight and Reform Development project, supported by the European Union.

During the event, key issues were discussed regarding the state of cooperation between customs and law enforcement agencies, the advisability of granting customs authorities the status of law enforcement agencies, and the functions of operational-investigative activities (OIA).

Particular attention was paid to the presentation and discussion of the results of a comprehensive survey and analytical report reflecting the views of law enforcement and customs officials on these issues.

Participants in the event, including leading scientists, experienced practitioners from customs and other law enforcement agencies, representatives of the legal community, business, public organizations, and students, took an active part in discussions and debates. They exchanged valuable experience and best practices, and jointly identified promising areas for further development of the institutional capacity of the Ukrainian customs service.

The event became an important and productive platform for professional dialogue between all those who shape the future of customs security in Ukraine!
