It is with deep sadness that we inform you that on August 3, while performing a combat mission on the front line, a graduate of the Educational and Research Institute No. 1, police captain Oleksii BALABA, died. He was only 35 years old.

Oleksii was born in the village of Oleksandrivka, Donetsk region. In 2011, he graduated from Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs. After that, he worked in police units: he started as an investigator, later - an investigator, and eventually headed the investigation sector in Oleksandrivka police.

With the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Oleksii decided to join the defense of the state. He served as part of the rifle battalion of the special purpose police of the Main Police Department in Donetsk region.
Brave, fair, responsible - this is how his comrades-in-arms, colleagues and classmates remember him. Oleksii BALABA gave his life for Ukraine, heroically holding back the onslaught of the occupiers.

The bright memory of him will live in the hearts of his relatives, friends, fellow students, teachers and the entire university.
