The first step into university life is not only about getting to know the classrooms, teachers, and future profession, but also about discovering the university that first-year students are now becoming a part of.

During the orientation camp for first-year students of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, staff members of the Department of Social and Humanitarian Work conducted an educational lecture entitled “History and Traditions of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs.”

The first-year students learned about the establishment and development of KhNUIA, its traditions, significant events, and prominent people who have shaped the university throughout different periods of its history.

Particular attention was paid to the university’s present-day life and the opportunities it offers to cadets. The lecture covered educational and sports initiatives, cultural and creative activities, leisure opportunities, volunteer projects, and civic engagement. After all, the cadet years are not only about studying and professional training, but also about developing leadership skills, realizing one’s abilities, discovering new talents, and becoming an active member of the university community.

The first-year students of today will, in time, become part of the history of KhNUIA themselves, continue its traditions, and help shape its future.
