Public practical classes on the subject "Criminology" in OSUIA

Associate Professor of Criminology and Psychology of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigative Units of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs, Candidate of Law, Major of Police Olena Protsenko together with Senior Inspector-Criminologist of Lymansky Office of Criminal Investigations of the Headquarter of the National Police of Ukraine in Odessa region, Major of Police Yevhen Dermanny held a public training practical classes “Criminalistic Photo, Video and Forensic examination of traces (trasology) at the crime scene.

Training with cadets of the 302nd platoon within the discipline "Criminology" was aimed at mastering the acquired theoretical and practical skills in the use of methods and means of detecting, fixing and removing fingerprints, shoe prints, vehicles; mastering the techniques, means and methods of photo and video shooting during investigative (search) actions, as well as expert research in the process of detection and investigation of criminal offenses. For this purpose a close to reality scene was modeled according to the presented plot on the fact of a robbery. During the training, the cadets consolidated their theoretical knowledge of forensic techniques and working out the procedure for compiling photo tables, the rules of detection, inspection, fixation and removal of traces during the inspection of the scene. In addition, some elements of the training were aimed at training logical thinking as an integral part of the profession of future police officers.
