The scientific and pedagogical staff of Odessa State University of Internal Affairs is constantly working on quality increase of the educational process by improving the pedagogical skills of teachers.
On September 21, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminology and Psychology of the Faculty of Training Specialists for Pre-Trial Investigations, Candidate of Law, Major of Police Olena Protsenko conducted an open practical training “Criminalistics” for the3-rd course students on the topic: "Criminalistics research of traces (trasology) ".

The practical lesson was attended by the head of the department of methodological support of the educational process of the educational and methodical department Victor Grishin, associate professor of criminal law and criminology of the faculty of training for pre-trial investigation Anna Reznichenko and a leading specialist of the faculty of training for preventive activities Igor Puchkov.

During the lesson, the cadets developed the ability to detect fingerprints on the surface of the object using optical methods and dactyloscopic (magnetic and non-magnetic) powders; to carry out the description of the removed fingerprint according to the rules of description in the protocol of inspection of the scene and the subsequent fixation of the detected fingerprint by means of digital photography; remove fingerprints with fingerprint film or Scotch tape; to conduct fingerprinting of suspects who could leave the removed fingerprints.
