Faculty members from Odesa State University of Internal Affairs: Viktoriia Kobko-Odarii, Head of the Department of State and Legal Disciplines, and Nataliia Yanchuk, professor in the Department of General Legal Disciplines, participated in the «General Theoretical Jurisprudence and Legal Practice: The Golden Mean of Interaction» Summer School for Professional Development, which took place in Lviv.

The Summer School was organized by the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy with the support of the Supreme Court and the OSCE Assistance Program for Ukraine.

The Summer School program focused on current issues in the development of general theory of law, the interaction between legal scholarship and practice, a discussion of contemporary challenges to the understanding of law, and the presentation of the second, expanded edition of the textbook «General Theory of Law», edited by Professor Mykola Koziubra.

Of particular value were the presentations by Supreme Court justices, who shared their own practical experience and emphasized the fundamental importance of legal theory in judicial practice.

Participation in the Summer School provided an excellent opportunity for professional development, for exchanging experiences with leading Ukrainian lawyers, and for deepening knowledge that will be applied in the university faculty’s research and teaching activities.
