On January 22, Ukraine traditionally celebrates the Day of Unity - a symbol of the unity and invincibility of the state. On this occasion, solemn events were held at all locations of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, which united cadets and students around a common historical memory, national values and the idea of unity.

During the events, participants recalled the fateful event of 1919 – the proclamation of the Act of Unification of the Ukrainian People's Republic and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic, which became a historic confirmation of the Ukrainian people's desire to live in a united, independent state.

Those present observed a minute of silence to honour the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom, independence and territorial integrity of our state. University cadets laid flowers at monuments to fallen heroes, including on Shevchenko Square in Vinnytsia, paying tribute to their deed.

The Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Valerii Sokurenko, addressed the university community, emphasizing that today, as more than a hundred years ago, Ukraine is undergoing difficult trials, defending its independence in the fight against the Russian aggressor. He stressed that the unity, courage and resilience of Ukrainians prove every day the right of our people to their own state.

The celebrations ended with performances by the university's amateur art groups. Vocal and choreographic compositions emotionally emphasized the idea of national unity, strength of spirit and the invincibility of Ukraine.
