Foreign scientific and pedagogical internships as an element of the integration of KhNUIA into the world intellectual context

Kseniia Yurtaieva, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology of the ERI # 1, participated in the Scholars at Risk Program in 2022-2024 with the support of the Weiser Center for Europe and Eurasia, University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA). During her internship abroad, Kseniia Yurtaieva conducted research on “Cyberaggression as a way of conducting modern warfare”. Its results were presented on April 17, 2023, at the Weiser Center for European and Eurasian Studies Symposium. In the academic year 2023-2024, Kseniia Yurtaieva taught a course at the University of Michigan entitled “Theory of Hybrid Conflict in the Context of the Russian-Ukrainian War”.

Associate Professor of the Department acted as a mentor and researcher of practical simulations at the Weiser Diplomacy Center, Gerald Ford School of Public Policy, University of Michigan. She represented Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs in scientific events held at Piletsky Institute (Berlin, Germany; Warsaw, Poland), University of Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh, USA), University of Texas (Austin, USA), Michigan State University (Lansing, USA), University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, USA).

During her internship, Kseniia Yurtaieva was the principal investigator of the grant project “Countering Disinformation as a Cyber Threat in the Russian-Ukrainian War”, implemented in cooperation with the Research Institute for Public Policy and Social Sciences (Kharkiv) with the support of the non-profit organization CRDF Global. She became one of the scientific experts of the project “Training of Police Units of Preventive Activities, Investigation and Inquiry, Cyber Police on Ensuring the Safety of Children in Cyberspace” implemented by the All-Ukrainian Public Center “Volunteer”.

Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology Kseniia Yurtaieva will use the knowledge gained to improve the quality of educational and scientific activities in the field of the Department of Criminal Law and Criminology.
