Yesterday, February 12, the National Police Department weightlifting championship took place in Sievierodonetsk.  Nineteen teams, more than 100 representatives of the territorial police departments of Luhansk region, the Main Department, and cadets of Luhansk State University of Internal Affairs named after E.O.  Didorenko competed in two competitive exercises – push (two weights with a total weight of 48 kilograms) and jerk (weight with a weight of 24 kilograms).

According to the results of the competition in the team standings, our athletes took 3rd place.  1st-year cadet Oleksiy Shevchenko won gold in the weight category up to 78 kg, and 1st-year cadet Oleksiy Holodnik won a silver medal (weight category 63 kg).

We congratulate our athletes and their coach, Taras Hubarenko, a Department of Physical and Special Training teacher, with excellent results. We wish them continued high achievements in the field of Ukrainian sports.
