Odesa State University of Internal Affairs was visited by a delegation of the Ukrainian Red Cross, headed by the head of the Department of Humanitarian Access and Protection Svitlana Avramenko.

During the meeting with the university's first vice-rector, Maksym Korniienko, areas for further cooperation were discussed, particularly in the context of raising the level of humanitarian awareness among future law enforcement officers, disseminating knowledge about mine action, international humanitarian law, the protection of civilians, and the principles of the Ukrainian Red Cross.

During the visit, representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross handed over information stands and educational materials to OSUIA.

«Today we had a warm and pleasant meeting, during which we discussed the next steps in our partnership, which will be useful in strengthening the measures taken in educational institutions regarding mine action. We provided informational and visual displays with 3D images of explosive objects so that students, listeners, and beneficiaries could be more aware and understand what the threat could be and what rules should be applied to avoid this danger», - said Svitlana Avramenko.

Such partnerships contribute to the formation of high standards of humanitarian awareness among students, which is extremely important in the professional activities of law enforcement officers.
