Recently, students of the Institute of Law and Security of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs met with representatives of the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI).

The students were addressed by the Head of the SBI Department in Mykolaiv, Colonel Serhiy Ivanchenko, who spoke about the main tasks and areas of activity of the Bureau. The speaker paid particular attention to the importance of the SBI’s work in ensuring state stability and the rule of law.

The meeting took the form of an open dialogue. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive comprehensive answers. Topics discussed included the Bureau’s jurisdiction and the subjects within its competence, the process of completing professional practice, mechanisms for future employment, and how the focus of the Bureau’s activities has changed in the context of military aggression.

Special attention was given to the SBI’s cooperation with other law enforcement agencies and the specifics of work in ensuring legality and public order.

Using his own professional path as an example, Serhiy Ivanchenko demonstrated how a law enforcement officer can continually grow professionally, serve society, and work for the development and security of the state.
