Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs held celebrations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of granting the institution in the national status. The event brought together representatives of state authorities, law enforcement agencies, the scientific community, partners and friends of the university.

State Secretary of the MIA of Ukraine Inna Yashchuk, the First Rector and Initiator of the creation of the university, Vice-President of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Oleksandr Bandurka, Rector of the university in 2012–2015, Academician of National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine Serhii Husarov, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleh Tatarov addressed the team with congratulations. Nataliia Zabolotna, Head of the MDNP in Vinnytsia region Yurii Parkhomenko, Head of the MDNP in Khmelnytskyi region Ruslan Herasymchuk, Government Commissioner for Gender Policy Kateryna Levchenko, Rector of Lviv State University of Internal Affairs Dmytro Shvets.

The speeches featured memories of the first steps of the university, the years of formation and hard work. For a quarter of a century, KhNUIA established itself as a powerful multidisciplinary institution of higher education, which became one of the founders of the modern system of personnel training for the security and defense sector of Ukraine. Behind every achievement – people: their professionalism, dedication to the service of the state, patriotism and responsibility to society.

Rector of the university Valerii Sokurenko, congratulating the team, emphasized that this anniversary is celebrated in the conditions of a full-scale war. From the first days of Russian aggression, graduates and employees of the university came to the defense of Ukraine. 74 graduates Heroes gave their lives for her freedom. They were commemorated by a minute's silence.

Despite the forced redeployment, the university has retained its personnel potential, continues to train specialists for law enforcement agencies, develops scientific schools and international cooperation. The rector thanked scientific and pedagogical workers, employees, veterans, partners and graduates for their unity and stability, stressing: the university was and remains part of the national resistance.

During the event, the best employees were awarded awards. Anniversary and scientific publications, a commemorative coin and a postage stamp prepared for the 25th anniversary were also presented.

The festive mood was complemented by the performance of the drummers' unit, vocal and choreographic compositions «We – Ukraine», «Angels» and a thematic creative number dedicated to the university.
