Anastasiia SHUDROVA, a student at KhNUIA barrier-free driving school, who has been communicating in sign language since childhood, is taking a practical driving course. The girl says that her dream of getting behind the wheel began in childhood, when her grandfather first allowed her to hold the steering wheel. At the age of 15, her father began teaching her to drive a car with an automatic transmission, and at 18, her grandfather continued her training in a car with a manual transmission. Anastasiia eventually decided that she definitely wanted to get her driver's licence, as she loves travelling more than anything else..jpg)
Anastasiia learned about the barrier-free driving school, which caters to the needs of people who communicate in sign language, from her mother. Thanks to sign language interpreter Liudmyla BARANOVA, who accompanied her, she was able to fully absorb the material and easily interact with the instructors. This made learning comfortable, accessible and inspiring.2.jpg)
"I don't have my own car yet", says Anastasiia, "but I have a clear goal to buy one in the near future. I believe that I will pass the practical exam on my first attempt, and getting a driving licence will open up new opportunities for me, give me freedom of movement and even more exciting trips".
