A two-day All-Ukrainian seminar for employees of corruption prevention and counteraction units was held in Kamianets-Podilskyi. The event brought together representatives of the National Police from most regions of Ukraine, other law enforcement agencies, as well as international and national partners.

The seminar was initiated by Khmelnytskyi Regional Police Department together with the Corruption Prevention Department of the National Police, with the support of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) and with the participation of representatives of the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption.

The seminar was opened by the Head of Khmelnytskyi Regional Police Department, Police General of the Third Rank Ruslan Herasymchuk. The Rector of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, Police General of the Third Rank Valerii Sokurenko, who emphasized the importance of forming a culture of integrity even at the stage of training future security sector specialists, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.

The event was attended by the Commissioner for Anti-Corruption Activities of KhNUIA, Kateryna Udod, who presented the experience of higher education institutions in forming a culture of integrity and implementing anti-corruption practices.

The seminar program combined theoretical and practical sessions. EUAM representatives presented the best European practices in forming internal integrity systems, and NACP specialists revealed the issues of leadership, monitoring the lifestyle of declarants, combating illicit enrichment and legalization of income.

Special attention was paid to the practical component: participants worked in groups on modeling situations related to making ethical decisions, assessing corruption risks and responding to possible manifestations of dishonesty, in particular under official pressure.

As a result of the event, the participants developed common approaches to improving anti-corruption activities, exchanged practical experience and identified priority areas for further work.
