Yevhenii Novikov, a third-year cadet of Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs majoring in Accounting and Taxation, participated in the "Young Diversity Ambassadors" (YDA) introductory workshop organized by the NGO "STAN."

The four-day program focused on stereotypes, prejudices, inequality, and interpersonal interaction. Participants discussed how personal attitudes influence communication and the social climate, while also exploring ways to foster an open and safe environment.

The training was conducted in an interactive format. Forum theatre, discussions, team exercises, and the analysis of real-life situations helped participants view familiar issues from different perspectives, practice constructive dialogue skills, and gain a better understanding of the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds.

A specific segment of the program was dedicated to self-reflection, emotional resources, and maintaining inner resilience. These skills are vital for a future law enforcement officer, as the profession involves constant interaction with the public, working in challenging situations, and the need to make well-considered decisions.

Participation in the YDA program gave Yevhenii Novikov the opportunity to broaden his practical experience in communication and teamwork, learn to be more attentive to others' viewpoints, and seek constructive ways of interacting. The cadet will be able to apply the knowledge and skills he acquired during his studies, civic activities, and future professional career.
